It's taken the hip-hop establishment about a week to get the wheels in motion. In the second week 2019, we've come to witness the sudden retirement of a rapper with a fairly decent approval rating. We saw The Game drum up interest for his forthcoming LP by summoning Just Blaze and Dr. Dre to the production table.

We also watched as J. Cole unraveled a scroll containing the 70 names associated with the hotly-anticipated Dreamville compilation. But none of them able to measure up to Future, who for the second week straight, showed up holding "playable cards."  This week, we Future stole our attention with the 2nd single in as many weeks. "Jumping On A Jet" made the cut on the updated "FIRE EMOJI" playlist. But Future didn't stop at that.

His latest single "Jumping On A Jet" was mailed to the press in a chunky knit-blanket. When unfolded, the package contained not only a 7" pressing as advertised but a mini-documentary in accompaniment. Otherwise, it was The Weeknd who made the greatest impact on the "FIRE EMOJI" playlist, by virtue of the Twitterstorm that erupted as a result of his guest verse on Gesaffelstein's "Lost in the Fire." KXNG Crooked, Boogie, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Melii, Juice WRLD, and Gunna all followed suit with strong performances of their own.
