The Weeknd, 6lack, Russ, Mick Jenkins and more hit Osheaga.
Another year, another edition of Montreal's famed Osheaga music festival in the books.
Despite some rainy weather to kick off the fest's three-day run on Friday August 4th, fans still turned up in droves to see their favorite artists and some of hip-hop's finest acts. The Weeknd was the biggest name on the docket, closing out Sunday's slate of performers in style, but he wasn't the only luminary of the rap world that graced the main stage at one of Canada's biggest parties of the calendar year. Russ, Run The Jewels, Denzel Curry, 6lack and many more were on hand to make the experience an extremely memorable one for ticket buyers.
Some high-profile cancellations, such as Lil Uzi Vert (Tory Lanez came through to replace him though, delivering a high-energy set as per usual) and Solange, put a little bit of a crimp in the plans of certain festival goers who traveled from afar, but overall the reviews from the weekend entire are positive ones. The first of a two-year transition period, chaotic logistics that were stressed even further by the inclement weather supposedly didn't hinder the activity to any great degree. Interestingly though, reports indicate that this was the first time in seven years that the festival didn't sell out, despite big names.
