JJ Watt, Odell Beckham Jr, Paul George, Steph Curry, Anthony Davis, & many more have sent their prayers to Gordon Hayward.
On Tuesday night, the NBA season kicked off in Cleveland, Ohio as the Boston Celtics took on the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first part of TNT’s Tuesday night double-header. The story of the game going into the night was Kyrie Irving’s return to Cleveland after being traded to the Celtics in the offseason, but what everyone is talking about now is the season-ending injury that occurred to All-Star forward Gordon Hayward.
About half way through the first quarter, Gordon was tossed a lob for a dunk but when he came down he landed awkwardly on the ground, ultimately breaking his ankle/leg in the process. His foot could be seen completely turned around at a 180 degree angle. Its pretty gut-wrenching to say the least (see here if you missed it).
Before getting carted off the court in an a leg brace, Lebron James rushed by Gordon's side and gave him some sort of encouraging words, but that’s not all who’s been speaking about the injury. Following the injury, twitter saw several athletes across all sports sending out their prayers to the Small forward, including Odell Beckham Jr & JJ Watt, who both just suffered a season-ending injury themselves last week, Ricky Rubio, Paul George, DeAndre Jordan, Anthony Davis, Mike Conley, John Wall, Magic Johnson, and former teammate Rudy Robert are just some of the names who took to Twitter.
Check out some of those tweets that fellow NBA players & athletes had to say about Hayward (below).
