On a day that has brought us releases from Ty Dolla $ign, Yelawolf, Big K.R.I.T., Yo Gotti, Majid Jordan, K-Camp, and more, The Lox have added their legendary voices to the mix with the surprise new EP #4NOREASON. The New York trio, which is made up of Jadakiss, Styles P, & Sheek Louch haven't released a new project since last year's Filthy America, which marked their first full length solo project in sixteen years. Now, the group is back to close out the year with four bangers, and the beauty of it is, they released it for no reason at all.

The project features appearances from Derez Deshon and L-Biz, but The Lox are the real stars of the show. Each member comes through in fine form, and Styles P's first verse on opening cut "Break It Down" is pure fire. "Livin' off experience n***a you can't test us, I'ma watch your eyes and all of your hand gestures," raps Styles. "Smoke and get high and then channel my ancestors, headed outta town in a burgundy tan Tesla." In fact, each member's flow seems sharper than ever, and despite the fact that they're nearly two decades deep in the game, The Lox still manage to sound hungry on this one.

For those looking to revisit some of hip-hop's glory days, #4NOREASON should fit the bill. Honestly, four tracks is hardly enough, but perhaps the arrival of this surprise drop might signify there's something bigger in the works. In the meantime, bump this Tidal exclusive project now, especially the introductory cut "Break It Down;" the sitar-driven banger may be The Lox' hardest track in recent memory. "If they see me after the flight, I chuck em' the deuces," raps Jada. "I'm in the villa high up with double masseuses." Yikes.
