It's been over a week since the rainbow-haired Brooklynite, Tekashi 6ix9ine, was arrested on RICO charges in a joint effort by ATF, NYPD and Homeland Security. The rapper was denied bail and was placed in gen. pop at Brooklyn's MDC, but was later transferred to a new facility after the rapper was allegedly threatened by fellow inmates. The new facility was described by TMZ, who broke the story, as "a federal facility that is regularly used to house witnesses who cooperate with the feds." However, his legal team is attempting to put the allegations that he snitched on his co-defendants to rest.
Speaking to The Blast, 6ix9ine's lawyer, Lance Lazzaro, denied allegations that the Brooklyn rapper cut himself a deal with feds by snitching on his co-defendants and reaffirmed the rapper's safety was being threatened, hence being transferred to an undisclosed location. Lazarro said that 6ix9ine is "Not giving states evidence" and the transfer to a new facility was simply made “due to threats.”
The rapper appeared in court earlier today and entered a not guilty plea for the six counts of firearms and racketeering charges he's facing. He was once again denied bail and his trial is set to start on Sept. 4th, 2019. His lawyer is reportedly planning to file for 6ix9ine's bail directly with the trial this week. His legal team is working to get him out of custody before the trial begins.
