Last year the HBO TV show "Game of Thrones" decided on a unique marketing tactic for their new season, with the rollout of a Catch the Throne mixtape. The tape was themed around "Game of Thrones," and helped get word out about the show to hip-hop fans that might not normally take an interest in it. The mixtape must have been a success, because "Game of Thrones" is back this year with another tape, to promote their upcoming season.
The first leak off the second instalment of Catch the Throne comes from Talib Kweli, with "Lord of the Light." The intro features a clip from the show, and Kweli makes sure to drop a few references to the show as well.
Season five premieres April 12th, and the new mixtape will arrive next month as well. It'll feature fifteen exclusive records, all of which broach topics themed around the show. Are you digging the project's first leak?
