In 1995, Spike Lee executive produced a film called Tales From The Hood. Directed by Rusty Cundieff, most famous for his work on Chappelle's Show, the horror film was ahead of its time. Much like Get Out, Tales From The Hood used the horror genre to outline racial issues going on in the Black community. The movie followed Mr. Simms, an eccentric mortuary owner who tells three gang members who show up looking for drugs tales relating to the dead bodies in his care. The movie is broken up into four stories, which all connect back to the main storyline with Mr. Simms. At the end of the film, the drug dealers realize that Mr. Simms is actually Satan, and that they have been killed and are in Hell.

A trailer for a sequel to the horror film was released on Tuesday. Spike Lee and Rusty Cundieff have reunited for the project, which stars Keith David as Mr. Simms. The film will once again be released in anthology form, with Mr. Simms serving as both the narrator and the anchor between each story back in his own timeline. Tales From The Hood 2 also stars Bryan Batt, Lou Beatty Jr., Martin Bradford, Alexandria DeBerry, Kendrick Cross, and Bill Martin Williams. The sequel will be released on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital platforms on October 2nd.
