Just a week after saying that he's putting the Rocky universe to bed (at least for him) in an explanation of why he didn't direct the last Creed movie, Sylvester Stallone has officially recused himself from the role of Rocky Balboa.

In an Instagram post he shared three hours ago, he described Creed II as his "last rodeo" and described how, when he thought Rocky would end with 2006's Rocky Balboa, he was at piece with the idea. However, when two "young men," Michael B. Jordan and Stephen Caple Jr.,  intervened to take the leadership reigns away from Stallone (who acted in and director the other Rocky movies), Sly was glad to pass down the franchise to the next generation:

Even though Rocky is–for Stallone at least–on the rocks, he isn't ready to pass on his other big franchise just yet. The latest Rambo movie which is scheduled to finish filming today.
