Update (December 14, 2017 @12:20 PM): A second suspect has been taken into custody for the slaying of Chinx. 26-year-old Jamar Hill has been arrested and is facing the same charges as Quincy Homere, TMZ reports. Both suspects were reportedly already serving time in jail for unrelated charges when they got booked for the 2015 murder.

On May 17th, 2015 Chinx was shot dead in Queens and NYPD detectives later revealed that they believed the killer was someone who was jealous of his success.

"I wouldn't call it a set up, but was he a target? Yes...So, we believe our shooter walked up and fired into that car," Lt. Rudolph said. "[Chinx] was not involved, as far as we know, with any type of serious drugs. But he was about to make it big. He was going to make money. Nobody, who knows anything about this murder specifically, is cooperating with the police at this time."

Family and friends of the former rapper, born Lionel Pickens, can now sleep easy since an arrest has been made for his tragic slaying. Pix 11 reports that Quincy Homere, 32, of Long Island is facing charges of murder, attempted murder, assault and possession of a weapon.

Earlier this year French Montana shared a post to his Instagram paying tribute to his friends passing. He captioned a photo of the two saying, "Always look at this when I'm down and need motivation to keep pushing 🙏 we miss u my brother #FOREVERCHINX life is short enjoy it with people you love ❤️"
