Be sure to allot yourself ample time to digest this leviathan. One album can feel difficult enough. Two requires hydration and sustenance. Three may very well require an intravenous hookup and some adult diapers. Luckily, Rae Sremmurd's ambitious SR3MM never feels like a chore, despite a run-time that seems to dwarf its competitors. As you probably already know, the project is divided threefold: the Rae Sremmurd disc, Swae Lee's Swaecation, and Slim Jxmii's Jxmtroduction.
We've already seen various chapters from the multi-headed project, including the ubiquitous "Powerglide," the Travis Scott assisted "Close," and "Guatemala," Swae Lee's natural successor to the infectious 2017 jam "Unforgettable." Admittedly, a project of this magnitude is difficult to assess upon a surface listen. It does appear that the group are in fine form, sliding over Mike WiLL Made-It's standout production with a newfound sense of artistic maturity. While they may appear to be stuck in perpetually youthful state, the Sremmurd boys have continuously evolved as both songwriters and performers.
If you're strictly here for Swae Lee, there's an album here for you. If you're riding with Jxmmi, there's an album here for you. If you believe that two is better than one, this album is most definitely for you. Check out SR3MM now, and be sure to sound off below.
