Lil Wayne shut it down during "I Ain't Shit Without You."
At the beginning of December, Lil Wayne announced the I Ain't Shit Without You tour, a fan-voted four-city endeavor. Ostensibly meant as a victory lap for his stellar 2018 campaign, Weezy hit up Houston, Atlanta, D.C, and Chicago, which brought the tour to an end last night. Given that I Ain't Shit Without You was brief as tours are concerned, it's entirely possible that many Wayne fans were left empty-handed, wishing they could catch the Carter V rapper in the flesh. Luckily, fans can now peep a livestream of the tour-closing Chi-Town show, which found Weezy holding it down for some truly lucky fans.
Over the course of the concert, Wayne plays hits like "The Motto" and "Uproar" sans backing track, which brings an electrifying dose of raw voicework to the mix; it's crazy to hear how dynamic Weezy can get, imbuing classic tracks with a renewed sense of life and energy. It's not often that an artist of his magnitude performs for such an intimate crowd. If you weren't able to check this out, do yourself a favor and peep the stream above, exclusively on Tidal.
