This morning, Ian Simpson, better known as Kevin Abstract, released his sophomore album American Boyfriend: A Suburban Love Story.
“I want kids to live through this character I’ve created,” the 20-year-old told USA Today earlier this year. “I want them to say that they are Kevin Abstract because they relate to it that much.”
In a later interview with Fader, he described the album as “a little bit of Goo Goo Dolls, Sunny Day Real Estate, Vanessa Carlton—stuff you would hear in a Chili’s."
