As you may have heard, the Philadelphia Eagles' indecision on the status of their White House visit has cost them the prideful scuffle. Before he could face public humiliation, Donald Trump rescinded the team's White House visit, a custom for all NFL Champions or winning franchises in the Big 4 of North American pro sports. Trump claimed his decision was based around the team disrespecting the flag during peaceful protests, but we all know all too well the real reason is shrouded in ego.

Steve Kerr, himself an NBA Champion, both as a coach and a player, has been down this road before. After Warrior's practice, he was asked by a reporter to comment on Trump's disinvitation and his answers went in great detail, so as to describe the changing social climate from his days as player in the 1990s to his tenure as the bench boss of a team of politically-predisposed athletes.

“I’m blown away by the irony of the Eagles being disinvited when you read about their good deeds, and instead we just have these military sing-a-longs at the White House to show how patriotic we are even though we don’t know the words." Kerr said. The Warriors' coach is referencing a regrettable moment in which the President elect forgot the words to God Bless America. Kerr referred to Donald Trump's turnaround as a clear-cut "political" and "ratings game." Hard to argue against that.
