Trump recently went on another Twitter rampage, this time lying about his recovery efforts for Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria and Irma.

Naturally, late-night TV engaged with the opportunity to inform the public about Trump's lies. Stephen Colbert, Trevor Noah, and Seth Meyers all had something to say. "It is much worse than we could have imagined. Trump has been laser-focused on hurricane response this week, just not this one," says Colbert. "He’s talking about the one a year ago because he's been tweeting a lot about how good a job he did responding to Hurricane Maria that decimated Puerto Rico last year, resulting in the death of almost 3,000 American citizens."

Seth Meyers responded to a video of Trump discussing the death toll in Puerto Rico with this analogy. "That video is like a local news report where the meteorologist called in sick," says Meyers, "and the sports guy had to fill in at the last minute."

Last month, Puerto Rican officials commissioned an independent study that declared an increased death toll to 2,975. Trump rejected these reports with no evidence based claims saying that the higher death toll is a political ploy to make him look bad. Chelsea Handler reacted on Twitter, alongside families of deceased loved ones, journalists, and more.
