While some celebrities like to announce their marriages on every platform possible, others rather keep things on the low. Stacey Dash happens to be one of the latter. According to PageSix, the conservative media personality married lawyer Jeffrey Marty way back in April in a secret ceremony. Sources close to the situation claim that Dash and Marty wed after knowing each other for only ten days. Apparently, it was love at first sight.
Dash, who started as an actress and video vixen, transitioned into the political world in the mid 00's. Aligned with the right, Dash registered to run for California’s 44th congressional district. PageSix claims that Dash wanted to run for office to “free people from the shackles of a plantation mentality.” She filed to run for office on February 26, but dropped out a month later due to “the overall bitterness surrounding our political process.” She married Marty just a few days later.
Dash’s manager Kerry Jones would not comment on how the couple met or the specific reason why they kept the wedding a secret. “They wanted it on the D.L. [down low],” Jones told PageSix. The couple appears to be in a long distance relationship, as Dash lives in Los Angeles while Marty lives in Florida.
