Soulja Boy says he's made two beats for Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter V."
Soulja Boy has been getting some love from big rappers lately, specifically the YMCMB camp. After Drizzy Drake hopped on his track "We Made It" and inspired a million freestyle/remixes that followed, the lean-loving rapper also connected with Nicki Minaj for "Yasss Bish!!!"
In a new interview with The Fader magazine, Soulja Boy details work he's been doing with another YMCMB counterpart, Weezy F, on his highly anticipated album Tha Carter V, in addition to laying down some work with Diddy for his new album MMM. Soulja says he's worked on two beats for Lil Wayne.
He shares with The Fader, "Iâm working on Diddyâs project right now. Heâs doing his last album right now, itâs called Money Making Mitch. Thatâs been taking up a lot of my focus. So is the Carter V. When I was in Miami I did like two beats for CV, and I just been tryna go back in on them beats and make them the best for Tune. And Nickiâs joint, The Pink Print is dropping. Her new song âYasss Bish,â I produced that and wrote the hook. I think that record is gonna be so big for her."
As for how "Yasss Bish" came together, Soulja says, "I had the beat and everything, we went to the studio and she killed it. The first day, soon as she heard the beat she killed it. And she put it out like the next day."
