In a show where the main character obviously struggles to conceal his British accent, it was refreshing to see someone like Alan O'n=Neill (Irish in real life) play the Irish Hugh when SAMCRO became Gaelicly involved in seasons six and seven of the show.

Unfortunately, O'Neill passed away at the too-young age of 47. He was found by his girlfriend in the hallway of his Toluca Lake apartment on June sixth and police say they've no reason to suspect any foul play.

According to an L.A. County Coroner's Spokeswoman, O'Neill died of "sequelae of chronic ethanol (alcohol) overconsumption" but "other significant conditions include blunt force head trauma and coronary artery atherosclerosis."

After O'Neill's death, his agent shared the following message:

It’s with sadness I confirm the passing of Alan O’Neill, a brilliant funny and kind human being...my thoughts are with his partner, children, family and friends at this time. I’ll personally miss knowing Alan isn’t sharing the planet with us any longer, despite the miles between L.A. and Dublin. Alan was only ever a phone call away. May he rest in peace.
