Sonny Digital has dropped the video for "Good".
Sonny Digital is Atlanta's answer to PARTYNEXTDOOR, something we didn't know we needed. Much like the Toronto songwriter, Sonny is a producer first, but in this case, he waited a while to try his hand at getting behind the mic. "Good' first made the rounds back in December, but it didn't quite get the credit it deserved. Today, Sonny has unveiled a psychedelic new video for the record, which captures the feel of the song in a way that should give it a second wind.
The instrumental is tied together with an especially blistering sub-bass line, and hints at a housier sound in its final seconds, dropping a snare we almost wish was there throughout. Meanwhile, Sonny's melodies are strong, but buried in the mix, acting as a texture more than the driving force, at times feeling almost sample-like.
What do you think of the producer's vocals? Does he have what it takes to break through as a solo artist.
