Before he was crafting hit singles of his own, SoMo was king of the YouTube hustle, achieving millions upon millions of views for his covers of popular music. For this new cover, SoMo switches things up by digging not into the top 40 charts but rather back 55 years to Ben E. King's soul classic "Stand By Me."
Now, obviously, SoMo isn't going to top the original track here; the song is too embedded in musical history to be topped by a cover. What he does do, however, is modernize the sound for a new generation that may have otherwise never heard of King's classic and, for that, we should be thankful.
