SOB X RBE continue to build the brand. While the collective have been making a splash throughout the year, it would appear that it's indeed time for building a solo portfolio. Such is the case for Yhung T.O., who has come forth with the new single off his upcoming debut Misunderstood. Enlisting fellow group mate DaBoii for the assist, T.O. holds it down over some dope production from Koast. The synth bassline takes center stage, conjuring up images of The Bay Area, of cruising past beachfront property, of blunt smoke drifting into the clear sky.
Yet beneath the bouncy instrumental is genuine pain from both parties, who lament the difficult nature of a street upbringing. "I lost my n***a to some gunshots," raps T.O, "now we slide tryin to make a n***a lungs stop, I know my grandma hurting cause she lost a son, and the cops wonder why a n***a got a gun." The marriage of infectious, head-nodding production and somber reflections of the come-up are what helped bring SOB X RBE to the forefront of the game, and one can only hope Misunderstood features more where that came from.
