Jermaine Dupri's musical career will be profiled in an upcoming production. WEtv announced the upcoming project will be a documentary chronicling the music exec's influence which spans over 25 years. A substantial part of the content will deal with Dupri's record label, So So Def, associated with a range of talents including Kris Kross, Jagged Edge, and Bow Wow. The televised special will detail how Jermaine brought the Atlanta sound to the masses as he rose to fame.

The So So Def documentary will offer never-before-seen footage from the vault in addition to some exclusive behind-the-scenes content of the label's 25th Anniversary concert. Interviews with Dupri's contemporaries will lend unique perspectives to the storytelling, recalling how the kid who opened for Run DMC became a teenage millionaire and an entertainment industry luminary.

The footage from the anniversary concert alone is set to be satisfying. The artists put on a show propelled by non-stop hits which would give fans an overview of the label's history. Jermaine explained why they created such a unique event.

"Of course, we got special guests. This is Atlanta. We gotta do what we gotta do. This is a one-time thing [...] We don't get but one 25th anniversary so we gotta go out with a bang."
