Smooky MarGielaa is one of the more intriguing figures to emerge within the past year or so with the 15-year old already taking part in A$AP Rocky’s AWGE collective, laying claim to a heavy presence on A$AP Mob’s Cozy Tapes Vol. 2 effort, and headlining his own tour all while not being legally old enough to drive the foreign whips he raps about. It’s all a winning formula that had the young upstart pegged as a shoe-in for this year’s XXL Freshman Class list, but to much surprise, Smooky was left out of the pack this time around.
Nonetheless, the young emcee already understands the fortune bestowed upon him to have accomplished so much and in his most recent offering he lays that acknowledgment down on the table as he rolls out his “Too Blessed” single and video. Capping out at just over a minute and a half, Smooky makes the most of his time to wax poetic about his current situation while reflecting on the homies he hopes to get out the projects soon: “Thank God I made it out the streets/I think I’m too blessed.”
