In a matter of months, Smokepurpp has become one of the hottest new rappers coming out of South Florida region right now along with close homie Lil Pump & XXXTentacion. Having catapulted himself to the forefront of the “Soundcloud rap” era, and massing over a million views with songs like “Ski Mask” & “Audi,” Purrp earned himself a record deal with Alamo Records earlier this year, before releasing his highly anticipated debut album Deadstar last month, which featured guest appearances from Chief Keef, Juicy J, Yo Gotti, & more.
Immediately following the album release however, news surfaced that Purpp was the newest rapper to sign with Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack label. Since then, Purpp has treated us to a new video for the Deadstar cut “Phantom,” and now today he’s back with something new sonically called “Make It Quick,” which was released exclusively with the clothing brand 10 Deep.
Going in over the bouncy, flute-driven production, Lil Purpp deliver a short, boisterous street cut that finds him rapping about trapping and baggin' bitches real quick. “Let this shit blow in this bitch, riding with a crew and a stick/ Tell that lil bitch suck a dick/ If you suck a dick better then make it quick,” he repetitively spits.
It’s unclear at the moment on where this will end up, if 10 Deep is releasing a project of some sort or not, but my guess it’s just a loosie for the culture. If you’re a fan of underground rap shows and warehouse parties than this is your ideal record, which is pretty much Purpp’s audience to say the least.
