Hip-hop collective Slum Village is readying the arrival of their forthcoming Lost Scrolls Vol. 2 album which will feature tracks recorded when the original members—T3, the late Baatin and the late J Dilla—were still in their teens. The new effort will arrive in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the crew’s Fantastic Vol. 2 project. Although it debuted in 2000, it was originally set for release in 1998.
Now, to tease palates, SV has come through with the “Lost Remix” version of their Q-Tip-assisted “Hold Tight”, originally found on Fantastic Vol. 2. Here, you’ll notice a reworked backdrop is the defining element of the new iteration, contrasting the more laid-back vibe that accompanied the original outing.
