Dating to last spring, it has been rumoured that Skittles would be updating their classic sugary sweets with a punchier, spicier edge. Now, gossip has become reality, as the company has officially stocked store shelves with their latest iteration, Skittles Sweet Heat.
Flavours will include: Sizzlin’ Strawberry, Fiery Watermelon, Blazin’ Mango, Flamin’ Orange and Lemon Spark. While this may seem a little bold and odd, fans of the brand will appreciate its experimentation, especially since there are few confectionaries that are attempting to incorporate tastes outside of the tangy or sour realm.
In order to further promote their product, the folks at Skittles have enlisted Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch. The famous football star visited a senior folks living community to hawk the candy to some willing participants.
However, it's not just Skittles that's been given a fiery touch, as Starburst and Sour Patch Kids are also injecting some spiciness into their arsenal of flavours.
