A couple days ago NBC's leading talk show host, Matt Lauer, was let go after sexual assault allegations. “While it is the first complaint about his behavior in the over 20 years he’s been at NBC News, we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident," the studio's president, Andrew Lack, said in a statement.
Since his firing, more stories have surfaced from unnamed women who said Matt exposed himself to them in his office, gifted them with sex toys and even had a button under his desk that locked them in his office while he was seated.
In Seth Meyers recent skit on his self-titled talk show, the comedian did not go easy on Matt. When bringing up the first allegations against the Today show host, that allegedly happened at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, Matt says, “And you thought the most disgusting thing at the Sochi Olympics was Bob Costa’s pinkeye,” Meyers joked. “Well, move over, pinkeye, there’s a new, grosser sheriff in town.”
When referring to the allegations that Matt gifted an employee with a sex toy and a note that detailed how he wanted to use it on her, Seth comments, "as a general rule, if you’re giving someone a dildo at work, you’re the dildo at work."
More women said that Matt would often spark up a game of 'fuck, marry, kill,' where those playing would have to pick a person for each category. “I don’t know who you said you’d marry in those conversations, Seth says about Matt. "But I do know that you killed your career, and you fucked yourself.”
Matt has since issued an apology:
"There are no words to express my sorrow and regret for the pain I have caused others by words and actions. To the people I have hurt, I am truly sorry. As I am writing this I realize the depth of the damage and disappointment I have left behind at home and at NBC.”
