It's unlikely free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick will ever get to play in the NFL again but his supporters, including tennis star Serena Williams, are still confident in his ability to take care of business on the field.

Kaepernick, who has a collusion grievance against the NFL, has not played in the league since the 2016 NFL season and it has become clear his ongoing legal battle is another reason teams won't go near him. However, despite his lengthy absence from the game, Serena doesn't think the 30-year old QB has missed a beat.

In a recent interview with Sean Gregory of Time, Serena expressed a strong belief that Kaepernick would win a Super Bowl if he was given another opportunity in the NFL. Gregory writes, "She doubts an NFL team will hire him, especially after he filed a collusion grievance against the league. But she’s convinced Kaepernick would win a Super Bowl. Few believe in the power of determination like Serena."

“Colin is happy with what he’s doing,” she says. “Some people are different. He’s just different.”

“He’d have so much to prove,” she says. “I would. I can’t imagine he would be any different. ‘Man, I’m about to show out. Y’all gonna see stuff you’ve never seen before.'”

Kaepernick reached the Super Bowl with the San Francisco 49ers in 2013, throwing for 302 yards and a touchdown in addition to 62 yards on the ground and a rushing TD, though the Niners lost to the Baltimore Ravens, 34-31.
