The collection is arriving on consoles this May.
One of the biggest money-making schemes capitalizes on nostalgia. Think about the amounts of cash you'd spend to relive your childhood through varying multimedia outlets; movies, music, or even video games. Sega is making the most of their huge catalogue of games to help you remember simpler times. They are releasing the Sega Genesis Collection – or the Mega Drive Collection, if you're outside of North America – collecting over 50 classic games from the system.
The Collection is set to be released on May 29th for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It was previously announced in a tweet which was later taken down. Another tweet formalized the announcement and included a video. Fans of the Sega Genesis will recognize games like Sonic the Hedgehog, Altered Beast, Streets of Rage, Toejam & Earl, Golden Axe, Space Harrier, Gunstar Heroes, and The Revenge of Shinobi.
With over 50 titles, the Sega Genesis Collection is bound to have dozens of hours of gameplay, especially if they're as difficult as we remember. Now officially announced, you will soon be able to pre-order the collection; the game will also have a digital release. You can check out the trailer below for a eye-watering, nostalgia trip.
