This week—in the midst of a host of high-profile releases—Bay Area newcomer Saweetie dropped off her High Maintenance EP, a full-length introduction to the young Warner Bros. signee who found success past her social media stardom with the breakout hit ICY GRL. In conjunction with the new drop, Saweetie also delivered on a new music video for the project’s opening track “B.A.N.”
The song, which addresses the bounce back from a relationship gone sour, adopts a title that Saweetie revealed is an acronym for “Bum Ass N*ggas” as she declares, “You ran off with a jump off, find a bridge and go jump with her/Sam Jackson, you took an L, got no juice, that's Pulp Fiction."
The cut is s certifiable breakup anthem through and through and may just prove to gain the upstart some more traction as she continues to make her first impression.
