Before Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj got together, Nicki was in a 12-year relationship with Safaree Samuels. While the specific reasons for their breakup are not entirely clear, Safaree is now claiming that Meek actually played a role in the demise of he and Nicki's romance.
When asked about The Game's Meek Mill diss track, "Pest Control," where he suggests that Meek had alerted Nicki to Safaree's cheating ways, Samuels chose not to deny Meek's involvement. "He definitely was a big part as to why me and Nicki broke up,” Safaree says, though he did not share any further details.
Whatever happened, Meek Mill and Nicki seem to be very happy together, as Meek shared in the new episode of Noisey Raps. "I wake up in my bed and I just look at Nicki like, 'Man, this shit has gotta be a dream because we used to dream all this shit and it's just going on right now."
Later on, Safaree expanded on his decision to drop the lawsuit which claimed he made significant contributions to her albums. “I had started a process, and then I just was like ‘You know what? It is what it is," he said. "If you want to deal with it like that, go ahead. I ain’t tripping.’ I’m doing a lot, and I don’t want to be having to deal with depositions and courts and all of that.”
