The reigning NBA MVP, Russell Westbrook, has a "style" book in the works which will provide a glimpse into his world and reveal how he uses style as a "psychological weapon" on and off the court.
Westbrook, who was recently named "Most Fashionable Athlete of the Year" by Sports Illustrated, revealed the cover of the book, titled "Russell Westbrook: Style Drivers," yesterday. The book will be up for grabs on September 5th, it will cost fans $55.
According to the website of the book's publisher Rizzoli,
"This book is a collection of stylish and inspiring images and text that provide a rare glimpse into Westbrook’s world, revealing how he uses style as a psychological weapon on and off the court and how he has redefined the role of a contemporary athlete turned cultural figure. On top of his consistently "bold and cutting-edge outfits," Westbrook will enter the 2017-18 NBA season as one of the favorites to win the MVP Award. Most Vegas sporrtsbooks have Russ and his former teammate, Kevin Durant, as MVP favorites, though William Hill currently has Westbrook slightly ahead with 5-2 odds, as opposed to KD's 4-1. LeBron comes in at 6-1 on the MVP odds, followed by Kawhi Leonard at 13-2 and James Harden, who is 15-2 at William Hill.
Westbrook's style may or may not be a "psychological weapon" in the upcoming season but he will be afforded the opportunity to play alongside 4x All-Star Paul George, who the Thunder acquired via trade this offseason. OKC will open up the 2017-18 season at home on Thursday, October 19th against the New York Knicks. You can expect Westbrook to bring his A+ wardrobe for the first game of the year.
