Last year, Australian singer Ruel emerged onto the scene with his breakout single "Dazed And Confused," and fans were quick to take to his melodic vibe. Today, he did his part in expanding the crossover effort with a remix to "Painkiller," tapping Denzel Curry to hold it down for some guest vocals. Off the bat, it's evident that this isn't Denzel's comfort zone -- that's not to say he can't adapt, but we're talking full-on pop rap territory for the Carol City lyricist.

Luckily, he's more than up to the challenge, hopping onto the beat with a dexterous opening scheme. "The pain kills with no hesitation, and my brain feels with no narration," he raps, his delivery slightly melodic. "Got the same shield to block all the hatred, got the same chills when them thoughts are racing." Even as the beat explodes in fanfare around him, Zeltron keeps himself grounded, proof that his versatility might be one of his more underappreciated perks. Check it out for yourself below, and while it might not be the classic Curry you're used to, it's still cool to see him trying something new.
