Royce Da 5’9” has been hitting the media circuit hard in promotion of his latest album Layers, and today we have an official video for the album’s first single “Tabernacle.” Royce takes us through his genesis as a rapper in the BET Jams-premiered video.
The song recalls some pivotal moments in Nickel Nine’s life, and the video provides a cinematically shot re-enactment of the events that Royce raps about in “Tabernacle.” Cutaways return to present day shots of the Detroit rapper as he spits in different rooms of a Tabernacle. We even get a hilarious actor’s representation of a young Eminem, complete with bleached hair.
