Layers is only a few weeks away, but apparently Royce Da 5’9” had his creative juices flowing at those recording sessions because he’s got even more new music on the way. “Dead President Heads” will appear on another EP titled Tabernacle: Trust The Shooter and will drop before Layers.
“Dead President Heads” has Royce Da 5’9” at his lyrical best, spitting almost seven minutes of clever wordplay and witty shit-talking. He does so over a StreetRunner soul-sampling instrumental that sounds vintage in an era of trap ubiquity.
Royce revealed to The Fader that the EP was originally planned as a b-side record but grew into “an entire EP that was inspired by a photo my man JD took at the ‘Tabernacle’ video shoot.”
