Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus have agreed on terms for a 4-year deal, with only Real Madrid standing in the way of his transfer. The Spanish club had initially set his buyout clause at €1 billion but are believed to be willing to come down on their price, the €100 million sum deemed acceptable. The decision rest solely on whether Real Madrid is ready to let go of their prized talisman, but as history often reminds us: keeping wantaway in the fold can prove disastrous.

Juventus is confident they will secure his services, with Ronaldo giving his word, in person, to chairman Andrea Agnelli. Ronaldo's agent spoke with a Portuguese newspaper about the possibility of his client's move to Turin: "If it happens, it will be a new chapter and a new challenge in his brilliant career." He's right, at this point in his career Ronaldo has accomplished everything in the sport, except for a World Cup triumph which has eluded him.

Juventus just let go of their legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon with his successor Mattia Perin ready to step out of his shadows. Buffon has agreed to join the club's Champions League rivals Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer. If Real Madrid were to Juventus' bid, Ronaldo would be joining a team ready to compete at the World stage.
