Robin Thicke dropped his much-discussed album Paula this week, and many people have raised questions about its authenticity (as in: are Thicke and Patton actually having problems, or is it all a publicity stunt?"). THis morning, THicke visited Hot 97 to clear up that exact question, among others.

Though he said he tries "to keep most of that private," Thicke admitted that his relationship with Patton was truly on the rocks, as he hasn't seen her in four months.

Thicke also reveals that all of Paula, even the happier tracks, is in some way related to his ex-wife. Case in point: the song "Living In New York" was written not because Thicke lives in NYC, but because Patton wanted to live there.

Robin Thicke is a sad dude right now, but he harnessed those emotions to create a raw, emotional album that goes against the grain of most modern R&B. Let's just hope he's doing alright.
