Ro Ransom's Momentum is his first project since 2014's Ro Ransom Is The Future mixtape (and its subsequent bonus disc). The Harlem rapper and singer's new 10-track effort finds him collaborating with Jazz Cartier and Kensei Abbot, and expanding on his already versatile sound. It features previously released tracks "Doppelganger," "Prettiest" and "Stop the World."

In 2014, Ro Ransom told HNHH about his very clear vision for the project. "It’s gunna be the 2015 Thriller. Anyone who is reading this can remember the day I said this, I’m gonna make the new Thriller," he said. "I wanna tell the story of my city, tell the story of the Upper West Side. Tell the story of Riverside, Westend. 92ND and Columbus. This place where I’m from that never gets spoken about, and the stories that are from there that never get spoken about, and all the fucked up things I’ve seen, and all the good times that I’ve had. Just the cultures where I’m from, and the way we are, and the way we dress. I’ma turn it into a movie, an audio movie. It’ll for sure be unlike anything I think anyone’s ever heard before."
