The Grammy nominations were announced yesterday, and fans are already trying to stir up drama around the picks. After Rihanna liked a post on Instagram that's caption insinuated Beyonce had unfairly been favored over her, rumors of a beef between the two quickly sprang up. Soon enough, Rihanna caught wind of the conversation and clarified that she had merely glanced at the photo in the post, which she thought was funny (it was). As for the caption (it read “I think they didn’t want her tied or passing someone else *cough cough* [lemon emoji]”), she wasn't here for it.
“I never actually read your caption, thought the pic was funny and moved right along!" she wrote. "Til I seen it pop up over and over! I’m petty af, yes. But this is just unnecessary! I wish ya’ll would drop this topic and see things from a bigger picture! We don’t need to be putting black women against each other! We deserve to be celebrated and the Grammy Academy agrees!"
It's hard to argue with Rihanna's view of the whole thing. Here's hoping both her and Bey win big at this year's awards. If not, it doesn't change that they put out two of the year's best albums.
