Just as Beyonce has Queen B, Rihanna has easily earned a title such as Queen R. Although, it doesn’t have the same ring to it, so we’ll just stick to Riri, knowing she’s also on Queen status. The Caribbean-born songstress has won over the likes of many from her ultra-catchy pop tracks and her dazzling beauty to her statements in the fashion world and her contributions as a stand-up role model. The singer received Harvard’s Humanitarian Award this year where she delivered a touching speech that detailed how easy it is to give back to others.
"All you need to do is help one person, expecting nothing in return. To me, that is a humanitarian,” she said. "[...]You don't have to be rich to be a humanitarian, you don't have to be rich to help somebody. You don't have to be famous, you don't even have to be college educated. But it starts with your neighbour... you just do whatever you can to help in any way that you can." Rihanna’s success took off when she scored an audition with music producer Evan Rodgers when he was visiting her hometown of Barbados with his wife. Evan told publications that Rihanna was a vision the first time he saw her perform. Her by-chance encounter with the record executive lead her to move to America at the age of 16.
