Dare I say, Remy Ma borrows from A Boogie, the hook layer's style becoming the main rhythmic feature for her new single "Company." A stylistic change is refreshing, as Remy is by all accounts, a traditionalist in the scheme of all things rap. Her hubby Papoose is literally drowning in a throwback as I speak out of my foghorn. The richest comparison I can make is that of a sloping flat surface we all want to see rocket up up to the sky. Remy is someone we want to see succeed, on her terms.

In "Company," Remy puts on a different hat than the one we're accustomed to seeing on VH1. A Boogie talks a good game about living for the "essential vibe." Remy knows what it's like to have something or someone taken away, at a moment's notice. The song begs your indulgence, questioning what it means to be in good company, and if it's worth doting over in real time? You be the judge.

Quotable Lyrics:

Baby, what you want from me?
I been gettin' money, I could really put you on your feet
I was gettin' one visit, two phone calls, three showers a week
Now I get like 90K for my voice just to touch the beat, but yo
I will never ask you what you got for me
I just want some sloppy, every couple days I want the D
