When Lil Wayne landed BET's "I Am Hip-Hop Award," few in the hip-hop community took issue with the sentiment. Weezy remains one of the most well-rounded emcees in the game, proving adept at pleasing many different demographics, standing alongside some of the genre's best lyricists;if you disagree, listen to Tha Carter II or "Big Bad Wolf" for evidence. In fact, Wayne has bars and charisma in equal measure, a rare combination for someone as lyrically gifted. In any case, Wayne has earned his title, and such a fact is not lost on his daughter Reginae Carter.
Taking to Instagram, Reginae paid homage to her pops with a heartfelt post. "You deserve it & plenty more ! Love this man," she writes, alongside an endearing picture. While a daughter praising her father is indeed to be expected, it's still nice to see a close family dynamic between the pair. Plus, it's cool to see that Reginae can appreciate Weezy's skillset, even if there is an inherent familial bias. Bring on Tha Carter V.
