Elle Woods is back.
The original Legally Blonde is a classic fish out of water comedy that gave Reese Witherspoon her breakthrough role. In the film, a young Elle Woods attends Harvard in an attempt to win back her former lover that dumped her due to her low aspirations. Determined and studious, Woods gains access to a trial in which her skill is tested. She ends up winning the seemingly impossible trial for the law school, and becomes a campus hero. Then, in the sequel, Woods uses her charm and dedication to win a legal battle to free her Chihuahua's mother from an animal tester. Both comedies were critically and commercially successful, and now Reese Witherspoon will be coming back as Elle Woods for the third time.
Witherspoon took to Instagram to post a video that nods to a scene from the Legally Blonde franchise. “It’s true… #LegallyBlonde3,” wrote the actress on the post, which is a shot of her floating in a pool dressed in a bedazzled pink bikini. The 42-year-old actress looks just as good as ever. According to PageSix, Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith and Karen McCullah, the team who adapted the first film from a book of the same name, are expected to return for the third film.
