Rapper Big Pooh is half of Little Brother, but he’s a talented emcee on his own too. He enlisted talented producer Nottz for the beat, and grabbed California’s lyrical mastermind Blu for the feature on “Grass Ain’t Green.” Big Pooh masterfully spits tales about his (at times misguided) come up, guided by the refrain “green grass, same shoes.”
Blu shreds the second verse before Big Pooh hops back on the mic for to finish out the song with a chorus. Nottz’ went old school for the beat, using a looped vocal sample, sampled drums and a covering everything in a layer of old school record scratches. He recently released the joint EP “Rawther” with Asher Roth.
