Coming off his 7th solo LP The Wild, Raekwon is starting the new year off strong with two new tracks, including "The Sky." With some funky piano grooves floating over top of a solid beat, the Staten Island native turns up with some dexterous vocal delivery, effortlessly weaving in and out of complex phrasing and some off-kilter rhymes.
Perhaps the best part of this single from the Wu-Tang Clan alum is the fact that is goes for that old-school vibe in a big way, comfortable in its own skin and sitting squarely in a sonic environment that The Chef feels most comfortable in. Raekwon's performance, along with the pristine production from Roads Art, makes "The Sky" one of the finer points in hip-hop's first week of 2018.
