Raekwon has revealed the release date and cover art for his upcoming album "The Wild."
Last November, after spending the summer touring with Ghostface, Raekwon tipped us that he would release his seventh solo album The Wild this year. Thursday, the Staten Island native revealed that his album would be available for purchase on March 10th, 2017 courtesy of ICEH20/Empire Records. He also gave us a sneak peek at the cover art.
It features a graphic novel version of Lex Diamond holding a golden microphone as he makes his way through an apocalyptic version of New York City. He stands over tiny zoo animals wearing pimped out clothes, like King Kong over his kingdom. The news comes in on the rapper's 47th birthday.
No word yet on the tracklist nor who will feature on The Wild, but the announcement mentioned it would be a "new classic." Another epic chamber to Raekwon’s legendary catalog could definitely benefit from some more Wu.
