Queen Latifah was definitely sending some mixed messages when she was recently asked about the state of modern hip-hop.
While making a stop by Hot 97's Ebro in the Morning, the Girls Trip actress and former rapper herself at once praised the current culture, saying that "hip-hop is back," but then kind of taking some of that goodwill back when getting more specific about certain artists.
"A lot of rapper's lost their balls," she explained. "They got soft. Like, when things are going on in the world, like [Donald] Trump or elections, this was the stuff we chewed on. Or how much heroin — people addicted to heroin [there is]. Where’s the flip-side to Molly Percocet? Well the flip-side is that you’re missing out on life, you sleep, you crash your car. I’m not judging either way. I’m just saying it’s always good to have both those sides."
