Quavo and Pharrell have every reason about their productivity rates. The duo created both Migos single "Stir Fry" and Jay/Bey single "Apeshit" within the same breath, a time frame lasting no longer than 60 minutes. The Migos hook-layer made the boastful claim in an interview with Billboard in which he also shared his creative process for "They Can't Win," a song he lent to the Madden '19 soundtrack.
In the interview, Quavo outlined the pair's rapid-fire methodology in two steps. First they wrote "Stir Fry," and Pharrell quickly subjected him to the "Apeshit" beat in its embryonic stage. Quavo quickly wrote a part for it, he ultimately disposed of. Quavo admits he completely forgot about the song until Pharrell notified him of his alternate plans via phone call.
"Stir Fry" was the 2nd single off Migos' Culture II mega-launch, while "Apeshit" was the lead single for a joint Beyonce/Jay-Z album that has seemingly slipped through the cracks (although tour sales will likely fly off the handle). Both beat constructions aren't terribly complicated per se, but the longer Quavo sits in with engineers like Pharrell Williams, the keener his ear for song design will become.
