Propain continues to prove himself as one of Houston's most promising talents. Yesterday we heard his new collab with Kevin Gates, "Rodeo," which, despite the raw lyricism, happened to be one of his more poppy tracks. Here's another track off his upcoming mixtape, Against All Odds -- "1995," featuring Houston OG Z-Ro

The rising synths and background samples conjure up images of candy paint and glossy rims. Propain comes in harder than you might expect, and his bars are a powerful ode to the deeply embedded Houston rap culture. He channels the pain and struggle he's seen firsthand and wears it with pride. H-Town definitely wants this guy on the front-line, and Ro is happy to come through and bless the track with a fantastic hook.

Stay tuned for Against All Odds.

Quotable Lyrics

These cars represent just where we from
These scars tell the story of what we done
These diamonds show they ass how far we made it
Tattoos and T-shirts for all my n*ggas on the pavement
'Round these parts it ain't the safest
