Prince's "Let's Go Crazy" was the song of choice for Capital One's latest ad.
The 70th Primetime Emmy Awards happened last night, honouring television writers, actors, directors and successors. Aside from snubs, inspirational acceptance speeches and Atlanta's Teddy Perkins making an appearance, another aspect of the show caught a lot of peoples attention.
A Capital One commercial aired during the broadcast that featured Prince's 1984 song "Let's Go Crazy." True Prince fans at home were shocked since many are well aware of Prince's non-interest in having his music featured in commercial campaigns of any kind when he was alive. The Purple Rain singer didn't even want his music to be apart of the Internet, much less a credit card commercial.
"Something tells me @prince is rolling over in his grave with @CapitalOne using his music in a commercial. What is his estate doing? Geez! #letsgocrazy," one Twitter user tweeted.
