"Rockstar" does it again.
Post Malone's 2017 was a weird one but was also highly successful at the same time. While he ended off the latter half of the year with controversy surrounding his name, he broke some records at the same time. After releasing his single "rockstar" alongside 21 Savage, the two artists received their first number one single and managed to break Apple Music's first week streaming record previously held by DJ Khaled for "I'm The One." However, Apple isn't the only streaming service they've managed to beat a record on.
Post Malone and 21 Savage's "rockstar" has officially cracked the record for the longest #1 run on Spotify's Global Charts. It's a monumental feat for Post Malone and 21 Savage. The song maintained it's position at #1 for 108 days straight and apparently, has no indications that it'll be dropping from that position in the near future. On top of that, "rockstar" has already marked the first U.S. hip hop song to maintain a number one position for consecutive weeks in the U.K since Run D.M.C's "It's Like That" in 1998. At this point, the song has over 650 million streams across the globe.
While he's made some major feats with "rockstar," fans are now waiting for his upcoming album Beerbongs & Bentley's. Posty's been teasing the project for a while and back in November, he claimed the album would drop at the beginning of December. Once time came, Posty formally apologized to fans on Twitter and let fans know the project won't be coming out "for a little while." Nonetheless, we're still excited to hear what he's been cooking up.
